Here is some info on the bond issue that we just passed. House Bill 4 (HB 4) as enacted by the 75th Texas Legislature created the Instructional Facilities Allotment (IFA) program to equalize the burdens of debt service in financing school construction. $87.5 million is available for new Instructional Facilities Allotments (IFA) applicable to fiscal year 2008–09.
Here is a quote: Approving the measure would allow the district to qualify for state instructional facility allotment funds, which would pay for 52 percent of the $112 million of building projects, district spokesman Gilbert Tagle said. That state help would not be available if the bond issue does not pass in May.
Here are a list of schools fighting for the $87.5 Million Dollars. There is NO WAY we are going to get $50 Million dollars out of the $87.5. We will be lucky if we get $1 million.
