Every person Carmen Gonzalez ever gave a job to was at her kickoff tonight. From department heads to teachers. And all, and I do mean all, the Palacios were in attendance. From the grandparents, to the grand kids, to the cousins, to the great-great grand kids.Even the school attorney was there. Was this for job security? Even the OWLS were in attendance. It was obvious she was trying to pack the place. But I would have to say it was moderately attended.
During her speech she talked about how she was in it for the kids. She talked about how honesty is one of her true characteristics. She painted a good picture about herself. And that she wants to leave the negative campaigning on the sidelines.
Well, Carmen Gonzalez are you in for a treat. You and your bond committee lied to the taxpayers of Edinburg. You said that the tax rate was going to go up 7 cents. In the next board meeting you are going to pass a tax rate that will go up 15 cents. Last year the tax rate was at $1.11. Now, they want to change that to a $1.26

She is a sales rep for NES (National Education Systems Inc.) This is a place where textbooks are sold. Since, she is a sales rep. That basically means the more textbooks she sells. The bigger the commissions. So, is she selling to the ECISD dist? What do you think? She's willing to spend over $30,000 for a non paying position. What does that tell you? She also forgot to mention how she was arrested for family violence over at South Padre Island.
And here is the biggest lie yet! She told all of us. That if the bond election would pass. That the state would cover up to 50% of the 112 million dollars. People up north are saying we will be lucky if we even get 5 million dollars. So, now I ask you all! Who is lying to who?
