The Republican Party doesn't care about you, me, Aaron Pena, Eddie Saenz or Dist. 40. They only care about what we can do for them. Aaron comes on here and says you have to work with both Republicans and Democrats to get things done. That is absolutely correct. The house is held by a Republican majority.
So, in order to bring things to your district. You sometimes have to side with the Republicans. Aaron Pena voted for Republican Tom Craddick for Speaker of the House. He even gave a seconding nomination speech. On how wonderful it was to vote for the guy.
Now, I'm asking Aaron Pena. Where are the projects you got in return for voting for Craddick? The wellness center? Nope, any legislator could have done that. All you had to do was file the bill. The kids at UTPA voted on that.
The 45 million dollar DPS Center? We, the voters voted for that on proposition 4 of the amendments.
The Cancer Research fund? We, the voters voted for that also. While you voted against it.
The teacher fingerprint bill? You were there and didn't vote.
The banning of Gays and Lesbians as foster parents? You were there and didn't vote.
The teacher pay increase? One dollar and twenty five cent per day raise. That is nothing to brag about.
The new CHIP expansion bill? Where you left over 10,700 hidalgo county kids uninsured.
Now, I'm going to ask again. Where are the projects?
Where is the law school? The medical school? The pharmacy school? Why are we the ones that have to leave our families to go get an education up north?
Why haven't you filed a bill to tie in the legislative pension with the teacher salary?
Again, I ask! Where are the projects. You have been an elected official for over five years. Where are the projects?
What dist. 40 is finding out. Is that your vote for Craddick had nothing to do with bringing projects to dist. 40. It had to do with the almighty dollar. The dollar you love to put in your pockets. The dollar that made you vote for a Republicans. Your able to survive on these Republicans. Why dist. 40 is getting nothing in return.
