Concerned Parents Speak Out About An Honest Mistake

ARE WE SAFE FROM "HONEST MISTAKES"?

As you all know school board member David Torres's son was found in possession of a rifle in his truck on campus. The school attorney told the media that he was suspended for three days pending expulsion; that is a lie. He was allowed back in school because it was an "honest mistake". If someone would have gotten shot while playing with it, would that have been a mistake? It hasn't been too long that another student also had a gun in his truck, this student received the punishment for the crime. TWO WEAPONS IN SUCH A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, and how many others that we have not heard off.

The student code of conduct clearly states the punishment and there is a "zero tolerance" for these kinds of violations. According to the board, students have to pay $15 to get their phone back when confiscated. How much did Mr. Torres pay to get the rifle back and clear his son of any wrongdoing? I am sure they don't want to ruin his chance to a football scholarship.

This is not the first time that David has to use his power; back in May David Torres's nephew was also part of the "da bomb" car situation. The only punishment he received was not to walk down the isle during graduation. What about all the tax payers' money that were used when all the agencies were called to assess the incident? What are we teaching the kids? If your parents are politicians, you just make honest mistakes; you are not a criminal.

WHO CARES ABOUT DAVID'S SITUATION. The real question is: Are our kids safe? Is Mr. Guerra not being too strict with students? I wonder how many "honest mistakes are out there. Oh, now the K-9 was checking car at the teacher's parking lot. What's up with that? I guess administration figured that if a student or his father can make an honest mistake, a teacher could make one also? I hope they didn't find anything in any of the teacher's car because I am sure that teacher will be in the news, fired, and will take away all the attention from Mr. Torres's son. GREAT STRATEGY!!!

All emails are welcome and will be kept anonymous.

I believe the situation here is with the school board members. Well, Carmen and co. There is a standard already in place. And they didn't follow that standard. This opens up the doors for all sorts of things. Probably a multi million dollar lawsuit. This is another attempt at abuse of power by certain people. They strip us from having a say so about the term limits. And now this!

The people to blame are the ones that have the majority on the board. Carmen, Ciro, Omar and David. All these idiots need to be recalled. These are the people that voted for the term limits. And these are the people saying it was an honest mistake.

The honest mistake is when you will be voted off the school board. You can delay it all you want. But that time is going to come. And the first order of business is to fire the superintendent.
