Well, tomorrow is election day. Before you go to the polls. Think long and hard about who you are going to vote for. I believe we need new faces for these two seats. Gene is only there for personal and financial gain. And Alma is there as a puppet to Richard Garcia, the Palacios family and her famiy.
I do like Johnny's comments on having both the P&Z and the Housing Authority on television. This is where all the backroom deals are cut. Do you even know who are on these committees? Oscar Garza's daughter is on the Planning and Zoning committee.
He has a relative on the P&Z and also on the Edinburg City Council. Could this be another conflict? The term conflict of interest. I have never used this term so much in my entire life until now. If your sick of the conflicts.
If your sick as the same politics as usual. If your sick of all the over budget projects. If your sick of giving subcontracts to Rio Grande Steel. If your sick of the Palacios family. If your sick of lack of common sense from Alma Garza. If your sick of the Owassa Rd to Nowhere. Then vote these people out.
You now have the power to tell these people what you really think about them. It's time to close this chapter. And open up a new and more positive chapter. I encourage you to vote for Johnny Rodriguez and Lonnie Guererro!
Bond election
Gas is up! Cost of living is up! Groceries are up! And by voting yes that means taxes will go up! Do we need the classrooms? Yes we do! But we don't need 20 million dollars worth of fine art centers. Whatever happened to the 40 million dollar UTPA fine art center Aaron Pena was taking credit for? I encourage all taxpayers to vote NO.
Make Carmen and co go back to the drawing board. And come up with a bond issue that will include schools and only schools. We need just the essentials. Why? Cause everything around you and I are going up.
