We Need Some Answers Before We Go Into The Voting Booth

The 112 million dollar tax increase is set for a vote on May 10. People need to have some answers before they go an vote. Question 1: What happened to the UTPA 40 million dollar fine arts center?

Aaron Pena already took credit for it. But where is it? Here is what Aaron has to say.

The University of Texas - Pan American is scheduled to begin construction on the $40 million dollar Fine Arts Academic and Performance Complex in Edinburg as the result of the passage of the TRB bill and the appropriation of the bond service monies in our latest budget. The fine arts building is expected to accommodate between 7,500 to 10,000 people.

I figure that UTPA and the ECISD can make some accommodations in reference to the fine art center. We can save 20 million dollars right off the bat. Let's not forget the goal here. We need classrooms plain and simple.

Question 2: Are our taxes going to go up? And if so by how much? I think the taxpayers have a right to know.

Question 3 Who are the people involved in the Yes4kids PAC? And what do these people do for a living? I only ask cause if these people are willing to pay $20,000 for a bond election. I hope these people don't plan on getting rich off the taxpayers.

Like who is going to build these buildings if this bond does pass?

Question 4: After May 10. Since Carmen and co messed up on the application to have the election changed to Nov. Does that mean any action taken by the ECISD after May 10 is null and void? And that any action taken means any ECISD taxpayer can file a lawsuit in state or federal court. Meaning that the three year term limit would have finished on May 10. Anyone still there without having an election is grounds for a lawsuit.

To Carmen and co. Don't leave the taxpayers in the dark. These are some valid questions. And we as taxpayers have a right to know the answers. Before heading to the polls.
