It didn't take long for Carmen's family to get involved. You see these two ladies are related to Carmen Gonzalez. The ECISD wanted to hear from the general public not family members. I'm sure Carmen even wrote what they had to say.
If you notice the bill. Look at the words Shall and May. I have been talking to some people in Austin. And they tell me that if the word May is in the actual bill. That it is not mandatory for the board to change anything.
If the word shall happens to be in the bill. Then the board has no choice but to consider the change.
The bill has the words May. Meaning this is an option. Not required! The school attorney also said that if the board does not change anything and leaves it the way it is. That the school dist. will lose some sort of funding. This is a lie.
It does not state anywhere in the bill that funding will be lost. Leave it the way it is. If it ain't broke then don't fix it!
The Parade
I was watching the parade go by this past Saturday. And a thought occurred to me. Why not have an Edinburg News float. With people walking around passing out literature. Sounds like a great idea to me. So, whenever the next parade. Be watching for the Edinburg News float. It's going to be an eye opener!
