Two hundred thousand taxpayers are about to begin paying the new state business tax for the first time.
Officials with the National Federation of Independent Business say they are amazed that many of the state's small-business owners are in the dark about the tax bill that will be due in May. Perhaps more amazing, they say, is that the state can't say for sure what the full impact will be for a tax measure passed in 2006.
