Aaron Pena Did Not Bring In A Sports Wellness Center To UTPA

Here is the actual bill itself:

SPORTS RECREATION AND WELLNESS FACILITY FEE;

THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS-PAN AMERICAN. (a) The board of regents of
The University of Texas System may charge each student enrolled at
The University of Texas-Pan American a sports recreation and
wellness facility fee to finance, construct, operate, maintain, or
improve sports recreation and wellness programs and facilities at
the university.

The amount of the fee may not exceed $75 for each
semester
of the regular term or for each summer session.

The fee may not be imposed unless the fee is approved by
a majority vote of those students voting in a general student
election called for that purpose.

The board may not increase the amount of the fee from one
academic year to the next unless the amount of the increase is
approved by a majority vote of those students voting in a general
student election called for that purpose.

The board shall deposit the revenue from the fee in an
account known as The University of Texas-Pan American sports
recreation and wellness facility account.

As you can see it's another fabricated lie by Aaron Pena. The students at UTPA vote on whether to bring a wellness center or not. Also meaning that the tuition would go up. Aaron was the person that filed the bill.

After the students decided to vote on it. Any st rep could have done this. Not one that sold his sole to the Republican Party.

South Texas set for new DPS headquarters

Remember that 45 million dollar DPS project Aaron Pena and Veronica Gonzales are taking credit for?

They didn't do a damn thing. The voters did. And it passed with flying colors. Which means your taxes are going to go up.

McALLEN — The Texas Department of Public Safety is set to build a new headquarters for this region, expand its local crime lab and design a driving track to train troopers from across the state, after a constitutional amendment funding the upgrades passed on Tuesday.

The amendment, known as Proposition 4, was one of 16 amendments Texans approved. The $1 billion measure also funds maintenance, improvements, repair and construction for state parks, historic sites and other crime labs and state projects, as well as potential construction of new prison facilities.

The Rio Grande Valley is poised to receive a large chunk of the authorized funding — $43.8 million — for its new regional headquarters and crime lab, according to estimates released earlier this year.

The McAllen-based office covers a 15-county region from Del Rio to Brownsville. Its crime lab upgrades are expected to offer more public amenities and allow criminal court cases to move through the justice system more quickly

As you can see these people didn't do anything up in Austin. But they sure do lie a lot!
