If Carmen has it her way. On the next school board meeting they will vote to extend the election from may to November. After the November election. They will have an election every four years instead of three years. I'm going to be simple and to the point about this.
There are three things the Edinburg School Board can do:
They can extend the election from may to November. After the November election they will go with every four years.
Or they could have an election this coming may. After the may election is when the four years kicks in.
Or they can do nothing. There will not be a penalty if they do nothing. If it ain't broken then why fix it?
Carmen Gonzalez is trying to confuse everyone so she can have her election in November. She does not want to face the voters in may.
You are an elected official for three years. Not three and a half. If the taxpayers decide to do nothing. She will vote for the extension next school board meeting. She has the majority.
I say leave it the way it is period. Where is Aaron Pena in all this? He voted for the damn bill. So call your school board members and tell them to leave it the way it is. Where is the public in all this? Doesn't the public vote to see what is going to happen?
